The Reluctant Seller
The numbers are clear. The decision isn't.
That's not a business problem.
Why successful founders hesitate when it's time to sell, and what to do about it.
The business is ready. The advisors agree. And the founder still can't sign. This isn't a valuation problem or a deal-structure problem; it's a threshold problem.
Tina Greenbaum brings 45 years of clinical and advisory experience to the one question the transaction team can't answer: what's actually keeping a financially ready founder from moving?
45–60 minute keynote. Q&A available. Virtual or in person.
For years, the neighborhood called my father "Mr. Bell." That wasn't his name. It was the name of his furniture store, Bell Credit. He extended credit to families no one else would, and he was godfather to half the kids on the block.
When the neighborhood became unsafe, my mother begged him to close. He finally did. Then he walked around our house in tears for six months.
The numbers had said it was time. Nobody asked what it would cost him to stop being Mr. Bell.
I've spent 45 years learning what my father couldn't put into words: the body registers the loss long before the mind admits it. That's why founders who are ready on paper still can't sign, and why logic alone won't move them.
